Samuel Rood

Samuel Rood

Missionary Trainer

Sam grew up in an intermarried Messianic Jewish home. His mom grew up in a Conservative Jewish family. After her own search for God led her to a supernatural encounter with Jesus, she decided to follow Him. Sam’s parents raised him to follow Jesus as well as to honor his Jewish heritage. His friends wondered how you could be Jewish and believe in Jesus, so Sam wrestled with his identity. He realized the only way to reconcile the various aspects of his identity is through a relationship with God. He attended Biola University where he studied the Bible and theology, hoping to minister to Gentiles. After traveling to Israel, Sam surrendered to God’s call to share the gospel with his own people. After graduating, Sam moved to New York City to do an internship with Jews for Jesus. Soon after that, he committed himself to missionary service. Now he trains new Jews for Jesus missionaries around the world. His wife, Rebekah, also serves with Jews for Jesus as one of the directors of family ministry. They have a son and daughter and live in Brooklyn, New York.
