Nicole Smith

Nicole serves as the Boston Branch Team Leader with Jews for Jesus. She was born in Namibia into a Jewish family who narrowly escaped the Holocaust and settled in southern Africa.  Her life was beautifully intertwined with her grandparents and she grew up with a deep appreciation for her Jewish heritage.

Nicole had always assumed that being Jewish and believing in Jesus were mutually exclusive; that Jesus was simply “off limits.” But her search for truth led her to discover that believing in Jesus as Messiah was deeply connected to the promises and story of her people. At seventeen, Nicole came to faith in Him. That same year, her mother and grandparents also became believers. This was a plot twist she never could have imagined!

Nicole earned a B.A. in Theology with an emphasis in missions while serving with Jews for Jesus in South Africa, where she met Garrett. Married for 27 years, they have served together in Jewish ministry in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Boston.

First with Jews for Jesus, but for the past 2 decades, Nicole served on staff at Newton Covenant Church as Director of Outreach, Spiritual Formation, and Community Life. She and Garrett are thrilled to be back on staff with Jews for Jesus. Her heart is to share the good news of Messiah Jesus with her Jewish people, build relationships, and create spaces where people feel welcomed, known, and safe to ask honest questions. She loves opening her home, caring for people through food and hospitality, and creating community around a shared table.
