Aden Friedman was born a Levite to an Orthodox Jewish family in Johannesburg, South Africa. He attended Jewish private schools and studied in a Yeshiva in Israel when he was sixteen. He was head of Judaica at his high school in Cape Town and received the Judaica award for religious service to the school. He worked in the hospitality industry for ten years, where he managed and co-owned restaurants in Johannesburg. He married Cara Friedman in 2014 in Cape Town and currently serves as a missionary with Jews for Jesus in South Africa.
I grabbed the New Testament from where I had hid it in the cupboard and opened it. It happened to open to the Gospel of Matthew, chapter one. I was completely overwhelmed when I read the very first sentence: “This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham.”
