The results of a recently released study by the Barna Group, Jewish Millennials: The Beliefs and Behaviors Shaping Young Jews in America, have been called into question by some Jewish leaders. This reaction is emotional and unfounded.
The Barna team found that Millennial Jews in America present quite a paradox.
At their annual synod, the EKD, a group of Lutheran, Reformed and United churches that comprise the liberal wing of Protestantism in Germany, passed a resolution renouncing its mission to convert Jews to Christianity.
The Daily Beast ran a sensational headline. entitled: “Jew for Jesus Arrested for Torching Omar Mateen’s Mosque,” but Joseph Schreiber is not in any way associated with Jews for Jesus.
A February 21st article by Rachel Avraham, titled “Jews for Jesus Missionaries Support Pro-terror Palestinian Organization,” has been taken down by Jerusalem Online in response to a letter from Jews for Jesus’ lawyers.
Jews for Jesus missionaries are wrongly being charged with links to Arab terrorists according to a Jerusalem Online report. Father Gabriel Naddaf of Nazareth alleges that, by association, Jews for Jesus is in collusion with those who are anti-Zionist. He cites conversations with two Jews for Jesus staff members, both of whom have served as soldiers in the IDF and currently serve in the Israeli reserves.
The Vatican’s Commission for Religious Relations with Jews released a comprehensive document on Catholic-Jewish relations on December 10 which calls on the Catholic Church to “neither conduct nor support any specific institutional mission work directed towards Jews.”

The Rev. Billy Graham informed Richard Nixon of the Jewish community’s concern about Jews for Jesus in a private telephone conversation in February 1973. Graham represented the group as being “set up all over the country,” at a time when the organization was in its fledgling stage, with just a handful of workers.
