David Brickner says, “I’m so pleased to introduce Aaron Abramson as our new CEO! It’s been my privilege to work closely with Aaron since he joined our staff 24 years ago. I have seen him succeed in a wide range of Jews for Jesus leadership positions. And with good reason! Aaron loves to think through complex challenges from a biblical perspective. He is a big picture, strategic thinker who also happens to be creative—so he brings fresh vision for how to reach and serve more Jewish people in our communities. Massah, our outreach to Israeli backpackers, is just one example of an evangelistic strategy that Aaron created and launched.
“As one of Jews for Jesus’ two chief operating officers since 2019, Aaron has had oversight of our North American and UK ministry teams as well our Church Engagement and Communications Departments.
“Aaron holds a BA in biblical and intercultural studies from All Nations Christian College in England and a master of public administration from New York University.
“He brings so much knowledge, experience, and passion to the position of Jews for Jesus CEO. And I can’t wait for you to get to know him directly as he shares his vision with you in upcoming newsletters.”
I was raised in a Jewish family in Seattle. My parents started attending a Messianic congregation around the time of my bar mitzvah, so I learned about Yeshua (Jesus) as a teenager. When I was 15, our family relocated to Israel. Before long, I found myself spiritually dry and began seeking answers in an Orthodox yeshivah (a religious Jewish school). After eight or nine months, I left, feeling confused and empty.
After high school, I was drafted into the Israeli military where I continued drifting away from God. After completing my service, I did what so many Israelis do: I took a year to travel. At one point, I was dehydrated and passed out in the desert. I awoke to a bowl of water in front of me with no explanation apart from God’s hand on my life. When I returned to Israel, I realized that if God loved me, I wanted to be with Him. I told Him that if Yeshua would help me overcome my sin, I would follow Him always.
Soon, I found that I wanted to share the love and transforming power of Jesus with my Jewish people whenever possible. Jews for Jesus gives me so many opportunities to do that, and to equip others to do so as well. Not only that, I met my beautiful wife, Victoria, through our ministry. We have three children. I’m excited and humbled by this new season of ministry and would be deeply grateful for your prayers.
I believe we are standing on the threshold of opportunity. The Bible is clear. God promised a future and a hope to the Jewish people. The Scriptures point to a revival the likes of which we have never seen. That is what must drive us forward. And that is why I am so hopeful about the future of Jews for Jesus.
