I have a confession. For the last several months, I haven’t really been editing this newsletter. It’s not that I’ve been neglecting the publication or you, our readers. But a year ago, I began training two colleagues I’ve come to know and love to take over this newsletter. And about four months ago, the training wheels came off!
So, after 30 years of editing the Jews for Jesus Newsletter, I am blessed and excited (and okay, just the tiniest bit sad) to tell you that I am passing the baton to Sasha Baxter, our new newsletter editor, and Hunter Clark, our new (and first) managing editor. I think their work on the last several newsletters speaks for itself—especially considering they both have many other responsibilities in our ministry. I am continually impressed by their love for God, and their eagerness to be in sync with His plans for their lives, and for the salvation of the Jewish people. Mentoring them has been my privilege and pleasure.
And it’s been my privilege and pleasure to serve you as well, helping you know how to pray for our ministry, encouraging you about how God is working through your prayers and support, and, I might add, being kept on my toes by your high standards. You share our love for God’s Word and His redemptive plans—we couldn’t ask for better partners!
You might see an occasional newsletter contribution from me in the months and years to come, but I’m spending most of my time writing and editing for our unbelieving Jewish audiences. For example, I write for the new monthly email we send to Jewish people who are interested in knowing why we believe in Jesus and what He actually said and did. I LOVE this new season, and it is breathing tremendous energy into my 68-year-old heart! I would so appreciate your prayers for this stage of my ministry, and I’m sure Sasha and Hunter would echo that for their new(ish) roles as well.
With love and appreciation,
Ruth
We are thrilled to be your new editors! We see the Jews for Jesus Newsletter as a vehicle to celebrate kingdom victories, lift up prayer requests, share about Jewish evangelism, and encourage one another in our faith in Messiah. We love connecting our missionaries “on the ground” with believers like you who are prayerfully supporting this vital gospel work.
It’s such an honor to report to you every month how God is moving on the frontlines of Jewish evangelism. We hope you feel as encouraged and blessed as we do when you read about the inspiring work Jews for Jesus missionaries are doing around the world.
Please let us know if you have questions or comments. Together, let’s continue relentlessly pursuing God’s plan for the salvation of the Jewish people!
Yours in His service,
Sasha Baxter and Hunter Clark
