Equipping Those Who Serve Where We Can’t

Sharing the good news of Messiah Jesus with Jewish people is an enormous task. Jewish communities are spread across cities and neighborhoods around the world. While our trained missionaries work faithfully to build relationships and proclaim the gospel in many of the largest Jewish communities in the world, we cannot be everywhere at once.

That’s why we are always encouraged when non-Jewish believers ask how they can reach the Jewish people God has placed in their lives.

To help meet that need, we created the Jews for Jesus Classroom. This free online training platform is designed to equip believers to share the gospel with Jewish people in a thoughtful, compassionate, and effective way. Through self-paced courses taught by experienced Jewish believers in Jesus, participants learn about Jewish identity, history, and common questions about Jesus. They also gain practical guidance for engaging in meaningful spiritual conversations.

One of the most encouraging examples of this ministry is unfolding in Canada.

Over the last few years, our Toronto branch has developed trusted partnerships with a number of churches in Canada’s Filipino community. Last year, some of them reached out to us to help them better understand how to share the gospel with their Jewish contacts.

They told us that several of their congregants work for Jewish families as caregivers, nannies, housekeepers, and household staff. As they care for children, support seniors, and assist families in everyday life, they often develop deep bonds with the people they serve. Naturally, they wanted to share the gospel with their Jewish clients.

But as much as they love their Jewish clients, they also recognized that there were some historical and cultural barriers to sharing the gospel with Jewish people.

Through partnerships with these churches, the staff at our Toronto branch began offering training using resources from the Jews for Jesus Classroom. So far, we have equipped 50 Filipino household workers through two training cohorts, with additional churches already expressing interest in future sessions.

Together, we explored topics such as understanding Jewish identity, responding to common questions about Jesus, and caring well for Jewish people in the midst of rising antisemitism. We also considered how to share the gospel with wisdom and sensitivity. Participants also heard personal testimonies from Jewish believers in Messiah and learned practical ways to build on the trust that already exists within their relationships.

This free online training equips believers to share the gospel with Jewish people.

What excites us most is the multiplying impact of these partnerships.

Many of the Jewish people these caregivers work with are individuals our staff would likely never have had the opportunity to meet. Yet through years of faithful service, they have developed relationships built on trust, compassion, and genuine friendship. Through the Jews for Jesus Classroom, they are gaining the knowledge, confidence, and sensitivity needed to share the hope of Messiah with the Jewish people they know and love.

This is exactly why we created the Jews for Jesus Classroom. Whether someone is learning independently, with a small group, or through a local church, the program equips believers to become gospel ambassadors to the Jewish people. It allows us to extend our reach far beyond what our staff alone could accomplish.

Thank you for making this ministry possible. Please pray that God would continue to strengthen these partnerships and open doors for gospel conversations. Pray also that he would use the Jews for Jesus Classroom to raise up many more workers for the harvest.
