Thank you for reaching Jewish people around the world!

Live Chat is our online chat room, and it’s a great way to meet Jewish people who are searching for God and want to know about Yeshua (Jesus). We are there for anyone who would like prayer, who have questions, or those who are simply curious about what we believe. Richard Harvey recently met Shmuel*, a Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) Jew from Brooklyn, New York. They talked via Live Chat the day before Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), the most solemn day of the Jewish calendar, on which we fast, pray and repent of our sins, seeking reconciliation with God and humanity. Shmuel asked Richard how he would be observing the day, and they discussed whether it is possible for us to atone for our own sins. Shmuel agreed that Jewish tradition says that our atonement comes from God, but he went on to say that we must do all we can from our end. Richard asked Shmuel to think about how our sins can be forgiven without the shedding of blood because Leviticus 19:11 makes it very clear.

For Shmuel there was no obvious answer, so Richard asked him what he thought of the Jewish tradition in the Talmud of two Messiahs: Messiah son of David, the conquering king, and Messiah son of Joseph, rejected, humiliated but brought back from the grave to save his brothers during the famine. Shmuel had no response, but he said he would ponder on the matter.

Your prayers and support make it possible for people like Shmuel to enquire about Jesus!
