B’nei
Mitzvah

Tutoring

A bar/bat mitzvah is a chance for your child to own their Jewish identity and dive deeper into their faith in Jesus.

We want to help Messianic Jewish Children and families to flourish!

Here’s how we can guide you on your journey.

B’nei Mitzvah tutoring is a unique program developed by our Youth and Family Ministry.

Our Tutors

Our staff are Jewish believers in Jesus. Many of us grew up in intermarried households. We were given tools, traditions, and wisdom to help us live out our integrated identity. Over the years, we’ve developed what was passed down into our own b’nei mitzvah training program. And we are so excited to share it with your family!

Our Process

Our curriculum takes b’nei mitzvah candidates through key points of Jewish identity and faith in Jesus. Here is some of the scope we’ll cover:

  • Your student and their tutor will read through and discuss the book of Genesis
  • They will read one of the Gospels, too, and explore the life and teachings of Yeshua (Jesus)
  • We teach thealeph betand the Hebrew for their Torah and Haftarah portions
  • Together, we’ll discuss questions like, “What does it mean to be Jewish?” and “What does it mean to follow Jesus?”
  • Your student will discover ways to share their deepening faith in Yeshua with their peers

Customizable

Your student will be paired one-on-one with a tutor who’s right for them. We’ll meet online or in person weekly to check in and go over the material.

We adapt the program for each child’s strengths and needs. Reach out to us to discuss how we can adjust to your child’s unique situation.

Training usually lasts 12–18 months. If your child has some Hebrew and Bible knowledge, training can be 6–12 months. Either way, we’re here to see them through and watch them flourish!

Family-Oriented

Yes, “b’nei mitzvah training” means homework (that’s where you come in, Mom or Dad!).

Your child is part of the overarching Jewish story, and their bar or bat mitzvah is the time to celebrate that. They are also part of your unique family story. For intermarried families, we can help both the Jewish parent and the Gentile parent to be involved and lead their child through this process.

That’s why we’re so excited to come alongside children and parents alike. We’ll keep in close communication with you during your student’s training. And we’ll be here to support you with any questions you have as you and your family navigate this journey together.

Tools for their journey

The simcha (celebration) at the end of your child’s training program is definitely a reason for great joy! And we’re ready to celebrate with you—in some cases, our tutors have even been able to fly out for their students’ b’nei mitzvah ceremonies.

And, our mission with b’nei mitzvah tutoring goes beyond the celebration. We want to equip your student to pick up and carry their heritage and faith for themselves. Being a Jewish believer in Jesus is a lifelong journey, and the discipleship your child receives in this season can give them confidence for their life of faith ahead.
