Here is his message to us:*
Shalom,
My name is Simon.** I recently came across your YouTube channel. I was born and raised Jewish (my father is part of Chabad), and I’ve always felt a deep connection to Judaism and God. Still, something felt missing. I prayed regularly and attended synagogue, trying to be faithful, but I assumed my lack of fulfillment meant I wasn’t religious enough.
That changed this year when I started watching The Chosen. I was immediately drawn to Jesus. The show opened my eyes and made me reflect on moments in my life that now seem like more than coincidences: people mentioning Jesus, finding a Bible at a garage sale, and feeling compelled to read it.
Reading the New Testament for the first time, Jesus’ words struck me deeply. In Matthew, he speaks against performative faith. I remember thinking the same in synagogue, some people seemed more focused on appearances than connections. And the more I read, the more I realized that Jesus and his disciples were Jewish. It’s all rooted in Judaism.
I used to think being Jewish meant I couldn’t believe in Jesus. Now I see that’s not true. I still embrace my Jewish identity, but I also believe Jesus is the Messiah. Since then, I’ve felt more peace and joy. When life gets hard, I remind myself that my faith in Adonai the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit is enough.
My father believes I’ve been brainwashed. He says I can’t believe in Jesus and still be Jewish. I respectfully disagree. His reaction reminds me of those who opposed Jesus in his time. I used to think Jesus had nothing to do with the Jewish people, but now I see he came for us too. I’ve come to realize it’s not lineage that saves us but faith alone.
I’m writing to thank you. It’s not easy going against the grain. I still feel guilt and resistance, especially from my father, but my faith sustains me. The path isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. I’ll keep watching your videos and learning more about Messianic Judaism. Thank you for your work. You’re helping guide others, Jewish and non-Jewish, toward truth and salvation.
God bless!
Our team has reached out to Simon and is walking alongside him on his discipleship journey. Please pray that Simon will continue to grow in faith and that his father will also discover Yeshua’s life-transforming love.
