Shabbat Shalom at Northwestern U
Chicago branch leader Jeremiah Zaretsky reports, “Recently Arielle and David Randle reached out to the leadership of a Christian campus group at Northwestern University. The group agreed to host Jews for Jesus for their Friday night regular meeting time. We decided to put on Shabbat dinner, both as an educational opportunity for the Christian group, as well as an outreach for Jewish students.
“During the week of the event, we had two hot chocolate outreaches on campus and handed out business cards/invitations to the dinner. Thirty-two people came for Shabbat, including three Jewish people who don’t yet believe in Jesus and six who do. In fact, two of the Jewish students (one a believer, the other not) were pleasantly surprised to see one another at the dinner.
“It was a wonderful evening and a great learning experience. We look forward to more partnering opportunities with this campus group; please pray that our joint efforts with believers on campus will be fruitful for all concerned.”
