RIO DE JANEIRO
Our Rio branch recently conducted a four-day outreach for those who came pouring into the area for Carnaval” (the annual Mardi Gras celebration). Branch leader Sergio Danon reports, “The Carnaval outreach was a blessing. At times we had as many as fifteen people on the streets, plus a full crew helping on the kitchen. Alexia [Sergio’s wife] did much of the logistics and behind the scenes work.
“In four days, the team handed out 51,225 broadside tracts. (Click here to see one of the broadsides.) Two hundred and seven seekers gave us their contact information, of whom 21 were Jewish. We met 43 Christians who are willing to pray for us and receive our mailings. Four people prayed to receive the Lord.

CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL OUTREACH IN WASHINGTON DC
On April 4, 300,000-400,000 visitors are expected to pack out the Washington DC National Mall-Tidal Basin to view the beautiful cherry trees that will be in full bloom. Our missionary staff will be on “Christ in the Passover” tours, but several of our local friends who have gone on sorties (tract-passing expeditions) with us in the past are going to carry on our traditional outreach. Please pray God’s blessings on these wonderful friends, and pray for the gospel seed to fall on receptive ground.
CHICAGO: STANDING WITH ISRAEL
Missionary Micha Cohen reports, “Each Thursday night, we bring a group of Moody Bible Institute students out with us to do evangelism. Recently we took the group to the University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC), and when we arrived, we discovered that a big debate about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict was about to begin. We decided to go and as it turned out, we were practically the only people in the crowd supporting the Jewish speakers.
“I was wearing a shirt that said “Jews for Jesus” in English, but it also had some Hebrew writing on it. It was very obvious to the Jewish people in the debate that we were there to support them. After the debate, we went up to talk to the Jewish people who gave the talk. One, named Dan, asked if we were evangelicals, and expressed his appreciation for our support of Israel. He listened as I read some verses from Zechariah 12 about all the nations attacking Israel, but when the text got to verse 10, “They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son,” someone pulled him away. I also asked him to read Isaiah chapter 53, about the suffering Messiah dying for our sins. Please pray that God will draw Dan to trust in Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins!!!
“The moderator was Bill Ayers, whose ties with Barak Obama caused a stir during the presidential campaign. I got a chance to ask Bill who he thinks Jesus is, and he said something like, ‘Do I believe he existed…? Maybe.'”
DON’T PASS OVER THESE OPPORTUNITIES!
Please remember to pray for our missionaries, as most will be out traveling to various churches to present “Christ in the Passover” for the rest of this month and the first half of next month. Remember, these presentations are a terrific opportunity for you to bring friend to hear the gospel presented in a Jewish way. The same will be true for our Passover banquets, many of which will take place around the middle of April. Click here to see if there is a “Christ in the Passover” presentation coming to a church near you, and here to see if we’ll be having a Passover banquet in your area.
