Portland campaign continued . . .
Penny Abrahamson reports, One evening some of our campaigners were holding banners, signs and waving to commuters on the corner of NW 23rd and Burnside. A man walked quickly past our team and introduced himself as the brother of one of our missionaries. He’d already met one of our campaigners earlier in the day. Allen walked with him up the street and gave him a broadside with our contact information on it and invited him to have dinner with us sometime. Pray for “J” who said he would give us a call.
“That same evening, a witch came up 23rd, trying to cast hexes on our signs and on each one of our campaigners. Allen approached her, told her that the blood of Messiah Jesus was covering each one of us and our signs, and she quickly went up the street. She returned two minutes later and Allen repeated loudly that we were under the blood of Jesus. Once again, she turned around and left.
“One minute later a man representing Jews for Judaism came and swore at us, threatening to tear down one of our banners. Allen shadowed him and the man eventually left. An hour later we moved to the next sortie site where three people received Yeshua as their Messiah. It was very growing experience for many of the newer volunteers who had never experienced this kind of opposition. One campaigner, Chuck, said of the campaign, “This has been the high point of my entire life! It was like I was living the Book of Acts myself.”
Praise God that “. . . greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4b).
