Israelis have a history of getting humanitarian aid to countries affected by natural disasters quickly and efficiently. A recent example was in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. A team from the Israel Defense Force repaired an abandoned hospital and began triage on hundreds of patients, including a woman who gave birth to a baby boy, and named him Israel. Audrin Antigua was quoted as saying,

We choose the name ‘Israel’ as just saying thank you to the Israeli people."*
