Natalie Sachs reports on the Cape Town Behold Your God campaign:
In our two weeks, we prayed with 103 people to receive Jesus out on the streets of Cape Town. Out of these, 3 were Jewish. We received 91 unsaved Jewish contacts (people who gave their names, addresses and phone numbers to hear more) and 323 unsaved Gentile contacts. We also met 650 believers, of whom 22 were Jewish, who gave us their contact information. We handed out 48,000 tracts. Please pray for fruitful follow-up and that the local churches will really reach out to those we’ve referred to them.
One campaign highlight was a meeting Jews for Judaism organized at an Orthodox synagogue in a very Jewish area. The rabbi spoke on Jews for Jesus: The Ultimate Contradiction!” Ten of us decided to go. At least 200 people from the local Jewish community attended. The rabbi said he would love to meet a Jew for Jesus and ask why they believe in Jesus. After the lecture, many people stayed to ask questions. One by one the ten of us introduced ourselves to the rabbi and, true to his word, he asked us why we believed in Jesus! Needless to say, each campaigner was delighted to answer the question as the remaining 50 or so people began to gather around us and listen intently. Some urged the rabbi to make us leave, but he refused. Several people came up to our campaigners and wanted to get more information!
