Mishpochah Message 1988
We piled out of our cars then prayed in the parking lot that God would bless our efforts. We walked around the comer to where we could see hundreds of people pouring from the movie theaters while hundreds more lined up for blocks waiting to pour in. The aroma of pizza and pastry was everywhere […]
A growing number of unbelievers have become more committed to stifling the gospel than believers are to telling it. When we accept the idea of a silent witness as the proper way to do evangelism, we fall into the very hands of those who want to neutralize our story. This should come as no surprise, […]
These are exciting days for Jewish believers in Jesus…perhaps the most exciting since the first century! The Messianic movement has made tremendous headway in dispelling the myth that developed—the myth that Jews cannot believe in Jesus. The dynamic growth which has taken place in the last twenty years is not merely the work of gifted […]
What do Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Mitch Glaser have in common? We’ve all been on the road to Singapore.” Only I wasn’t singing and dancing and ogling Dorothy Lamour. Well, actually, I did do some singing and just a little dancing…but the only thing I ogled was some magnificent scenery. I was just one […]
Received any harassing letters lately telling why you should reject faith in Jesus? The Jews for Jesus staff have been receiving unwanted and unwelcome mail. Some letters and literature are to annoy us, other communications are designed to dissuade us from our faith. Perhaps you won’t be bothered with such mail, but it’s good to […]
So your family is hard-headed when it comes to Yeshua? Listen, I’ll tell you about hard-headed. Once when Papa (that’s what we called my mother’s father) was visiting us, he fell in the bathtub and his head hit the porcelain soap holder—you know, the thing that sticks out of the wall? You’d think the impact […]
One of my first real jobs was working for one of my mother’s friends, named Morris. Each November Morris’ Christmas store would reopen and I would busy myself with stocking the shelves. I saw to it that the brightly colored balls, the tinsel, the lights and the ceramic angels were all in their places. All […]
Thanks to many of you for the affirming letters you wrote in response to the last Mishpochah Message. I noticed people seemed to especially appreciate the section entitled family feuds.” This has encouraged me to wade a little deeper into the somewhat sticky subject of messianic unity. We all know that our fellowships are not […]
I graduated from Bible college in 1974 with an arsenal of knowledge, ready to do battle. I knew almost everything about the Bible and theology and was ready to set the world straight. I entered seminary in Los Angeles to pick up what little there was left to learn. I knew the real” believers from […]
Greetings in Y’shua! I hope you all had a joyous holiday. What a terrific season to rejoice in our messianic Jewish heritage! What other time of year do we witness a more magnificent display of the melding of our Jewish identity with our faith in Y’shua than at Passover/Easter time? And all that good food! What a shame that Passover only comes once a year!
Shalom in the matchless name of Y’shua. Some months ago Moishe Rosen sent you our first Mishpochah Message. I hope that you gained some worthwhile insights from his discussion of the need for unity among Jewish believers. Thank you for your many letters sent in response to the Mishpochah Message. They have encouraged us to want to continue this new facet of our ministry.
