In the Jews for Jesus ministry, we often do not see the immediate fruit of our labors of sowing and planting. While this can sometimes be frustrating, it has come to be accepted as a part of the job. This was especially true when I was with The Liberated Wailing Wall. Because the nature of that team ministry is constant travel throughout the country, we saw the Lord do many things in the lives of those we met, but we usually did not get to see the long-term fruit of our ministry in any given place.

However, sometimes the Lord blesses us unexpectedly and does show us the fruit of our labors. Such was the case for me this past spring. I was ministering in Florida for two weeks during the Lenten season presenting the Christ in the Passover demonstration. While I was in St. Petersburg , I saw Faye. She had accepted the Lord back in 1981 at a Liberated Wailing Wall concert. She and several Jewish people had prayed that night with my wife and me to trust Jesus for their salvation. Soon after that concert, we left town. We gave Faye’s name to a local church and also put her on our mailing list in the hope that between the two ministries, her faith would stay real and active.

Now, years later, Faye came to my meeting to let me know that she was still walking with the Lord and growing in the faith. Not only that, her husband also had come to know the Lord since then.

As we parted that night, I found myself smiling as I prayed and gave thanks to the Lord. He had encouraged me by showing me that Faye was still walking with him, and had reminded me that our labor is not in vain, even if we do not always see the results.
