Wonderful Winter Weekend
Camp Gilgal Wonderful Winter Weekend provide an opportunity for our campers to get together between summer camps, and our prospective campers to test drive Camp Gilgal. The weekends start with a Shabbat dinner on Friday evening and end with lunch on Sunday. In between is some major fun and spiritual encouragement. Because California is huge, we have two weekend camps: one in Southern California (Mile High Pines in Angelus Oaks) and one in Northern California (Dream Mountain Christian Camp in Murphys).
Silver Spur Christian Camp and Retreat Center Tuolumne, California (near Sonora)
You can search the world high and low, and you won’t be able to find as much fun as we pack into two weeks of junior camp! There’ll be swimming, horseback riding, Tabernacle (Bible teaching and worship), Hebrew (ranging from those who don’t know the alphabet at all to those who can speak it), campfires, crafts, night games, theme meals, and some special surprises. This will be our 27th season! Nearly all our staff has grown up in our Camp Gilgal program, and we know how to make it fun for our campers. Our high staff to camper ratio provides a safe and nurturing environment for our precious campers. You don’t want to miss junior camp!
Camp Oakhurst Coarsegold, California (near Yosemite National Park)
Teen camp is an action-packed and fun-filled week! We hike in Yosemite National Park, study God’s word in Tabernacle (Bible lessons and worship), enjoy a mega slip-n-slide and adventure activities (rock wall climbing, ropes course and a giant swing), as well as paintball, swimming, night games, and much more. Campers grow in their faith in Yeshua, have opportunities to see how God has uniquely gifted them, and make friendships that will last a lifetime. Again, our high staff to camper ratio provides our campers a personal and engaging experience. Get ready for an epic week!
Whitewater Rafting: Klamath River, near the Oregon border
Adventure camp was designed with young adults in mind to be a part road trip, part camping adventure. This year we’re whitewater rafting on the Klamath River near the Oregon border, and it’s an amazing amount of fun! We’ll start at a ranch in Oroville (near Chico) and end in San Francisco. In between will be a road trip, rafting on a beautiful river, sleeping where you can see more stars than you can imagine, and on our drive back to San Francisco we’ll pass through the Avenue of the Giants (the coast redwoods). Adventure camp is designed to foster community among our campers and staff as we dig deeper into God’s Word together. Surrounded by the beauty of His creation, we seek to grow closer to the Lord and each other.
