During times of crisis, many people ask the question found in Psalm 121:1, “From where does my help come?” And many find the psalmist’s answer, “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:2). We thank God that so many are lifting their eyes unto the hills and finding mercy and grace in this time of need.
A number of our Jews for Jesus staff are still in Ukraine, even as many have sent their spouses and children out of the country for their safety. We continue to send aid into Ukraine through our staff who have gone to Poland to serve refugees at the border, including boxes of medicine, vitamins, and personal care items. Our staff in Ukraine continue to bring food and other necessities to those in dire need.
Our staff are receiving reports that in the cities and towns occupied by Russian forces, the army is approaching believers and demanding to know the whereabouts of the church leaders. It seems they already know the full names and positions of the senior leaders of churches and Christian groups.
Yet in spite of these troubling reports, the staff in Ukraine continue to share the love of Messiah in the refugee-filled streets. We are also holding prayer gatherings where we can invite those who are searching for hope—as many are in these difficult times.
