Staff Simchas (Joys)
We usually report from our missionaries on the field, but we also want to invite you to share our joy in the following life events of some of our staff.

Samuel Rood and Rebekah Pill were married on April 28. They met in August of 2011 on the first day of Sam’s internship with the New York branch and Rebekah’s first day of missionary training.
First-time parents Toby and Rebekah Weiss are praising God for Samuel Timothy Weiss, born April 22 at 5:44 p.m. Toby heads our I.T. department at Jews for Jesus San Francisco headquarters. His wife Rebekah has been involved with Jews for Jesus all her life; her dad and mom (Steve and Janie Wertheim,) have served with Jews for Jesus in various key roles since the 1970s.
Yonas and Mertsit Kidanemariam are happy to announce the birth of Micaiah’s baby sister, Eliana, on May 6 at 10:40 pm. Yonas also works in our I.T. department in San Francisco. Thankfully, there were two weeks between the births, so we didn’t have to call for reinforcements to keep our I.T. department going!
From Western Seminary, in Portland Oregon
A number of our missionaries have graduated from Western, as Jews for Jesus emphasizes continuing education. This year’s graduation ceremony was held on April 27. Our most recent Western graduates are Dan Sered (leader of our Israel branch), who participated in the ceremony and is finishing his coursework this summer, and Joshua Sofaer (leader of our Los Angeles branch), who finished his coursework in the fall and did not return for the ceremony. They both received the Master of Arts degree in Ministry and Leadership with emphasis in Jewish ministry. Jews for Jesus has been partnering with Western to offer this focus on Jewish ministry, and it is one of the partnerships we highlighted in the February 2013 edition of RealTime.
