Spending New Year’s with Students

In David Brickner’s article “Launchers,” he mentions how great it is to see large groups of evangelical college students who are passionate about worshiping God and extending His mercy to others. In fact, some of our staff and volunteers had a great opportunity to engage with such students just recently. Jews for Jesus Minister-at-Large Aaron Trank reports,
“A team of thirteen Jews for Jesus staff and volunteers brought in the new year by attending Urbana as exhibitors for our ministry. Our team spent time connecting with the 16,000 students who attended this Urbana conference, sharing about the need for Jewish Missions amidst the other ministry opportunities that were being offered. We had the opportunity to lead five different seminars on three different topics, and to cohost a Jewish missions luncheon alongside representatives from Jewish Voice Ministries International and Chosen People Ministries.
Jews for Jesus seminar at Urbana “During the course of Urbana we gave away over 200 T-shirts with the message ‘Because Jewish People Still Need Jesus,’ and worked to cultivate partnership relationships with several campus ministry organizations that often encounter Jewish students. It was incredibly encouraging to connect with Intervarsity leaders who desired to better witness to the Jewish students on their campuses, and to connect with dozens of Jewish students who are seeking ministry opportunities and are sensing a calling to Jewish ministry! Please pray for the follow-up that has commenced as we reconnect with hundreds of students that we met during our time at Urbana.”
