Jews for Jesus News
Here’s what’s going on and how you can pray regarding our work in Israel and holiday outreaches.
After a bit of a roadblock, we’ve resumed renovations on our Moishe Rosen Center in Israel – please pray for a swift completion and for the center to be used to God’s glory.
We are gearing up for the extra evangelistic opportunities of the season; between Thanksgiving and Christmas we’ll have stepped up outreaches, and then again for New Years.
As part of the outreach, Stephen Katz reports, “Between Thanksgiving and Christmas our Washington DC branch will send an evangelistic postcard to almost 5,000 Jewish households in an Orthodox part of town. This will be our biggest attempt in years to reach that area.” Please pray that people will respond to this and other opportunities our missionaries will be offering for them to learn more about Yeshua (Jesus).
In other news, Bob Mendelsohn would appreciate prayer for a couple of events planned for Sydney, Australia in December.
The first is a book launch for “The Scrolls Illustrated.” The book, by a Christian woman in Newcastle, features her drawings of native flora and fauna and the Five Scrolls (Lamentations, Esther, etc.). If all goes well (meaning the books are shipped in time) she will read from the book and sign autographs at the Jews for Jesus bookshop in Bondi Junction on December 10. We hope the event will attract many Jewish people – we think the book makes a great Hanukkah present.
We are also hoping to have a gathering of a dozen young Jewish believers in Jesus in Sydney from December 16-18. Details have been set for the venue, schedule, etc. but some who’ve expressed interest have yet to make a firm decision. The event is called Dor L’dor (generation to generation) and we’d really like to see it happen so please pray.
