*Behold Your God is our five-year dream of reaching every city of 25,000 or more Jewish people (outside of Israel, where we do have a flourishing work).

Sixty-some-odd cities qualify for a BYG outreach by virtue of their Jewish population. Normally, we like to tell you as much as possible in advance of the campaigns and as they are going on so that you can be praying for each one. However, some of these cities are either hostile to the gospel, or are home to opponents who are seeking to thwart our plans, so we have to be somewhat discreet in what we tell you. Please pray for BYG cities X,” “Y” and “Z.”

City X

City X is located in a part of the world where it is not safe to openly proclaim the gospel. We have been working for over a year to partner with people who live there. Two of our most hopeful partners have become seriously ill, one with cancer and the other with an intestinal disease. Please pray that God will bring healing to them and that He will raise up others to take part in this outreach. Please pray that people will have the courage to give us names and addresses of Jewish people in the country that might be willing to meet with us. Please pray that God will provide the wisdom and creativity we need to proclaim the gospel without putting friends who help us in harm’s way.

City Y

Anti-missionaries there have been anticipating our arrival for more than a year and have been organizing events and publishing articles to counter us on a regular basis long before we will have arrived for the campaign. Please pray that God will use all their efforts to bring even more attention to the Messiah Jesus, and that the warnings against us will only serve to make people curious about our message. Please pray that churches in the area will have the courage to stand with us.

City Z

Here we also have organized opposition, and it’s a part of the world where civil rights are almost non-existent. Training for our BYG campaign in this city has already begun and we should be able to report more in next month’s Real Time. Thus far at any given sortie (tract-passing expedition) between two and six adults and two to four teenagers are “counter-leafletting.” This is certainly their right and does not bother us, though one over-zealous opponent was attempting to snatch the broadside tracts from a campaigner, as well as from passers-by who had received the pamphlets. Pray that God will convict the hearts of our opposition, and that their strategy will be used for God’s glory.

Thus far, with three days of training and one day of campaign, the team has:

  • handed out 99,032 broadside tracts
  • collected names and addresses of 57 Jewish seekers and 33 Gentile seekers
  • prayed with 20 Jews and 24 Gentiles to receive Christ

Please pray for all the new believers, and for the gospel seed that has been and will be sown in City Z.
