Dan’s graduation, with Andrew Barron (our Toronto branch leader who’s been Dan’s Jews for Jesus mentor)

Jesse Danziger during his Council interview

Council Meeting Note

The quarterly meeting of many of the Jews for Jesus senior staff June 4-6 was very encouraging. We accepted three new staff: Jesse Danziger (mentioned in the Bay to Breakers story), Svetlana Adelson and Dan Tasman. Rob Wertheim met Jesse a few years ago on a sortie at San Francisco State before he was a believer. Several on our staff have ministered to Jesse, and he has been a great help to us as an intern. It was especially encouraging for Rob to see how God has led Jesse to serve with us. Svetlana is married to Alex, who is part of our Israel staff, and she has been a wonderful volunteer. It’s great to have her “officially” working with us.

Finally, Dan Tasman, one of our associate staff, has graduated from Grace Bible College and begins his missionary training with us in the fall. Mazel Tov, Dan!

Camp Gilgal Prayer Request

The effort and energy it takes to prepare and pull off these camps is well worth it as part of our commitment to raise up the next generation of Jews for Jesus. We have children and youth workers who are passionate about helping these kids develop a solid Jewish identity, with Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, at the core. Many of our present staff came up through these camps, which is a blessing. But more than developing people who might be called to minister with us, camp is about helping to solidify faith and identity through a caring community that campers can relate to throughout the year. This is our 23rd season of Camp Gilgal!

Please pray for our junior camp programs for campers ages 8-12:

  • West Coast (June 23-July 6)
  • East Coast (June 30-July 13)

Pray also for our teen camp programs for ages 13-15:

  • West Coast (July 14-20)
  • East Coast and Midwest (July 14-21)

Please pray for God’s grace, mercy and protection for our campers and staff, and that He’ll touch the lives of the young people attending camp. Pray that what we do will be done for God’s honor and glory, and for strength, energy, joy and wisdom as we serve Him daily.
