Watch the trailer for Awakening
If you live in or near New York City you are invited to the screening of Awakening! Narrator Stephen Baldwin will be there, as will many from our New York branch. Admission is free. Click here for details on location and to RSVP.
You can also use that link to view the trailer for this soon-to-be-released documentary on a fresh young generation of Jewish believers in Jesus who are stepping out to proclaim the gospel in New York City. If the trailer gets you excited about how God is stirring people’s hearts, please take a couple of moments to like us on YouTube and to share the link via your social networks.
We hope the trailer will inspire you to pray for our upcoming New York City Summer Witnessing Campaign; pray especially for Sarah Ascher who will be leading this year’s group. Many logistics (including who this year’s participants will be) are worked out well in advance, so it’s not too early to start praying!
Our Jews for Jesus Council will be meeting next week! We will be considering applications for new missionaries and we will be spending a significant amount of time getting up to speed on new ministry opportunities that are possible via Internet/social media. Please pray for wisdom and creativity and for logistics to work well (so that we don’t get hung up over electronics, etc.).

Wonderful Winter Weekends 2012
In February, we held our Camp Gilgal WWWs (Wonderful Winter Weekends) for Jewish children and youth ages 8-18. This helps us have ongoing ministry to our summer campers and give potential new campers the opportunity to “test drive” Camp Gilgal. As with all our children and youth ministry, the purpose of Camp Gilgal is to raise up new generations of Jewish believers in Messiah.
This year’s Bible lessons were based on Psalm 19, which describes how the Lord reveals Himself to us through creation and His Word. We talked about how the Bible identifies sin, encourages us and speaks to us in our daily lives. We had times of worship, as well as lots of zany activities. The campers came away closer to the Lord and to each other.
WWW on the East Coast was held the first weekend in February on a mountain in New Jersey. We had 28 campers attend, and six of them had never been to Camp Gilgal before. Because there was no snow, we had a blast instead playing one of our favorite games, Capture the Degel. (Degel is Hebrew for flag.) A highlight was when all the younger tribes decided to spend their free time working on their collages about Psalm 19. While they worked, their conversations with each other were about God’s power, His creativity, care, and love made known to them through nature. Five campers recommitted their lives to Jesus during the weekend. We were encouraged by the number of others who expressed a desire to walk more closely with the Lord, including Sabrina, a camper who comes from an unbelieving home.
Meanwhile, WWW in Southern California was held the same weekend in the San Bernardino Mountains. Thirty-one campers came, including three who were attending Camp Gilgal for the first time. Our younger campers went on a nature hike and had a chance to see God’s creativity at work in the beauty of nature. They also made bracelets that remind us of how His law reflects His glory and how we show His glory by living out His Word. One night during cabin devotions, some of our older campers found themselves in a deep, honest discussion that encouraged and challenged them all in their relationships with the Lord. By the end of the weekend, three campers had recommitted their lives to Him.
Please pray for God to work in the hearts of all those who attended our Camp Gilgal Wonderful Winter Weekends on the East Coast and in Southern California, and especially for those who made commitments to Him. Pray also for God to work in the hearts and lives of the young people who will be attending Camp Gilgal WWW-Midwest and WWW-Northern California this coming weekend, February 17-19.
