At the end of November, our Hebrew- and Russian-speaking missionary teams in Israel, in partnership with Chosen People Ministries, held a mini-evangelism campaign. They reached 350 Israelis by phone who had ordered a book about Isaiah 53 that explains how this prophecy in the Tanakh (Hebrew Scriptures) points to the Messiah Yeshua. Of the people they called, our staff later met with 66 personally to read the Bible and talk about the Lord. We’re hopeful the calls will lead to further one-on-one meetings in the coming weeks. Below are a couple of testimonies from the meetings we’ve held thus far:

Tzachi: “I called Amir,* an Israeli in his late twenties, to ask if he had received the book and what he thought about it. He surprised me by saying, ‘I’m a believer in Yeshua now.’ I asked him to share more details, and Amir told me how he had been watching many YouTube videos on the iGod website and reading the New Testament. Through his search, he had come to believe that Yeshua is the Son of God and the promised Messiah. I asked Amir if he had proclaimed this newfound faith to any other believers, and he said that he hadn’t—so I offered him the opportunity to do so with me over the phone. I was blessed to pray with Amir as he declared openly before God his faith in Yeshua. Hallelujah! I will be meeting with him soon.

Mikhail: “Itzhik* is a Jewish ex-coalminer who received the book we sent. He didn’t seem all that interested in talking about the Lord, but after I prayed for him and read to him from the Scriptures, Itzhik said he wanted a copy of the Gospel of John in large print. When I met with him again, he said, ‘I had a successful surgery on my eyes, and I can now see fine with my glasses! I have read your Gospel of John twice and understand that I have to get myself ready.’ ‘Ready for what?’ I asked him. Itzhik pointed his finger up to the sky and answered, ‘For there!’”

Please pray for Amir and Itzhik as they learn to walk in their newfound faith. And pray for the 350 Israelis who ordered a book about the Lord. May God open their eyes to Yeshua and the gift of salvation!
