Located in the heart of San Francisco, our Shalom Hospitality House has been a center of Messianic life and community for decades. But something new and special was born when Heartcities, a band made up of Jewish believers in Jesus from different U.S. cities, played their original work out of the House and launched our first-ever “In House” concert series.
Jake and Arielle B., the couple who currently manage the Hospitality House and open it up to the local community for Shabbat dinners and craft nights, stumbled across the idea to do a concert series by listening to what people were interested in doing.
“I’ve been living in San Francisco for almost four years, and over that time I’ve been able to meet a lot of people, including Jewish people and Israelis who are looking for real community in this very transient city.” Arielle explained. “One night, I was playing Painting Desserts for some Israeli girls I know, and one of them was so curious to see the band play live and meet Giselle, the lead singer. I thought, we could make that happen!”
A diverse group of 30 people turned out to see Heartcities perform their alternative spiritual music. Many stayed late into the night to chat with Giselle Le’Aupepe Bruce, and hear her talk more about her journey of faith.
We can’t wait for the next performance of our In House concert series, and to see how God will work through music and lyrics to bring community together and people to Himself. Check out Heartcities on iTunes and be moved by these deep and soulful songs for yourself!
