Jews for Jesus News
Read a quick update on the release of Moishe Rosen’s biography, find out how you can pray for what is going on between now and January 15, and take a moment to honor the memory of one of our missionaries who was recently called home…
Moishe Rosen’s biography: We are happy to announce that Called to Controversy, the Unlikely Story of Moishe Rosen and the Founding of Jews for Jesus, is due to be released February 21! Preorder the book (and get free shipping).
Precious in the Lord’s sight is the death of His saints (Psalm 116:15): We invite you to join us in praying for Stan Meyer and his daughter Carrie as they grieve the loss of Holly Meyer, beautiful wife, colleague and mother. Holly, a dedicated missionary with Jews for Jesus, will be missed by our entire Jews for Jesus staff family. Click here to read more about Holly, and to view a video in her memory.
As always, we have stepped up our evangelism during the holidays, and hope you will be praying for those who are sowing gospel seed, as well as for the hearts that may receive it. We hope you will pray for our ministry worldwide, but here are a few specific requests:
Los Angeles: Prayer and volunteers are welcome for the Los Angeles branch New Year’s outreach. Actually, activities start on January 2 this year as the Tournament of Roses parade kicks off at 8 AM in Pasadena. We need hands and hearts to help us distribute about 35,000 tracts that day and also at the float-viewing venue the next day, too. We have a unique broadside tract originally written in response to the song “Imagine” by John Lennon. We chose it because each year the parade has a theme, and this year it happens to be “Just Imagine.” We will also be distributing gospel broadsides (front) (back) before the Rose Bowl game in Pasadena. Please pray for open hearts to receive the gospel on the first days of 2012. Find out more info on how you can be involved.
Washington, D.C.: Our special Hanukkah mailing to the Orthodox communities in the D.C. area has just gone out, so people are receiving it even as you receive this email. Please pray that God will work through this outreach, and that we will connect with genuine seekers as a result.
South Africa: Please pray for our probe outreach in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. It began December 12 and continues through December 18. Plettenberg Bay is a popular holiday destination that attracts many Jewish people, including students (and specifically those who have just graduated from high school) from all across the country.
