We’ve never postponed an evangelistic campaign before but what’s going on in Israel leaves us no choice. Our upcoming Behold Your God campaign was to take place in Ashkelon and Ashdod, the area most affected by incoming rockets from Hamas.

We hoped the talks in Cairo would lead to a halt in the hostilities; instead military activity has escalated. People living in the south have been moving away. Due to recent instructions from the Israeli Defense Force Home Command, malls and beaches are emptying. All the places that we wanted to be out and engaging people with the Gospel of Jesus will be quiet and in some cases – abandoned.

After much prayer and discussion, it is with deep regret that Jews for Jesus is postponing this particular campaign. Our regular work in Israel is continuing as usual, but we will not be having a major outreach in the South Shore area of Israel at this time. Concern for the safety of participants along with the realization that we will not be able to effectively reach people in the places we want to be, makes this postponement unavoidable.

Says Dan Sered, leader of the Israel work of Jews for Jesus,

"We look forward to a time in the future when we can hold our South Shore Behold Your God campaign and make the messiahship of Yeshua (Jesus) an unavoidable issue to our people in Ashkelon and Ashdod."

We need your prayers right now:

  1. for those who were to participate in the campaign, that they not be discouraged but that God would give them cause to be refreshed in Him.
  2. for wisdom for our Israel leadership team to know the right time to reschedule the campaign.
  3. that we find grace with the airlines, as tickets need to be refunded or credited for future flights.
  4. most of all, pray for a cessation of hostilities in Israel and Gaza and for Israelis and Palestinians to turn to Yeshua, the Prince of Peace.
