Early on, our founder Moishe Rosen recognized the need to develop young people for ministry. He began our long-standing commitment to help young Jewish Christians receive Bible college and seminary training. Our Approved Student program, funded by donations from caring Christians, has provided theological training for scores of young Jewish believers in Jesus. Along with the formal education comes practical missionary work as approved students function as part of the Jews for Jesus branches.
Some approved students have become pastors or lay leaders. Some have become missionaries with other evangelical ministries and many serve on our staff. Our executive director, David Brickner, was an approved student (Moody Bible Institute class of ’81). So was his administrative assistant, Steve Wertheim (Talbot Theological Seminary class of ’79) and our newsletter editor, Ruth Rosen (Biola class of ’79) to name just a few. The Approved Student program continues to this day, and right now it includes six students currently attending Moody. Jhan Moskowitz, our Chicago branch leader has been overseeing our approved students at Moody for years. This year’s students are pictured here so that you can remember to pray for them. We believe that God will use these students for His glory and are thankful to have a part in their lives at this important time.
