This month’s newsletter is different from anything we have ever sent to you—because we have an announcement like none other we’ve ever made. It concerns a dream, a vision of what can be. We believe this vision is from God. And if God gives a vision, He will also give the opportunity to fulfill that vision.

Today, more than ever, Jewish people are open to the gospel! And the Scriptures promise they will respond in ever greater numbers. Through our 27 years of street evangelism campaigns in major cities throughout the world, we believe God has been preparing us for such a time as this.

God gathered up a handful of Jewish believers in an upper room in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago and launched them out to the farthest corners of the earth. We Jews for Jesus believe He is about to launch us into an adventure called Operation Behold Your God”!

Making Jesus “Unavoidable”

Starting on the Day of Pentecost, God used a handful of ordinary people to change the world forever. We believe He can change our world in much the same way today.

That is why a handful of ordinary people like us can say:

“We exist to make the Messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to our Jewish people worldwide.”

Those words are the heartbeat of our mission. They explain what compels and propels us out of our comfort zones. And they are the reason we are about to launch “Operation Behold Your God.”

God’s Great In-gathering

Should the Lord tarry, Israel will become more and more a focus for us as God continues gathering His people back to the Holy Land. But the Scriptures declare that He will speak to and reach His people while they are yet dispersed throughout the world. “But from there (the nations outside of Israel) you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deut. 4:29)

Our heart’s cry is to be used of God as He fulfills this promise. That is what “Behold Your God” is all about.

Demand For Courage and Creativity

Over the next five years, we plan to conduct 60 evangelistic campaigns in all cities outside of Israel with Jewish populations of 25,000 or more: from Cleveland to Budapest; Denver to Rio de Janeiro. We are seeking new ways to reach Jewish communities that might not be open to or able to receive the gospel by traditional forms of proclamation. Just as in the book of Acts, we will seek to win a few to Jesus, and eventually take the gospel to the whole Jewish community.

In cities like Tehran, Iran and Minsk, Belarus, preaching the gospel is risky. We know it will require more courage and creativity than we have. The opposition to and even persecution of believers is painfully real.

Driven to Our Knees

The prospect of making “Behold Your God” a reality has driven us Jews for Jesus to our knees. Most of our 150 missionaries from around the world will gather in Northern California the first two weeks of December. We will seek the Lord as we study and pray together. We hope to share an upper room experience of renewal and rededication. I hope God will shake our hearts, fill us with His Spirit and send us out to preach with new boldness, as He did with those early Jews for Jesus in Acts 4:31. We covet your prayers as we use this Millennial Convocation as a launching pad for “Operation Behold Your God.”

More of Everything!

Launching this adventure will require more of everything. First and foremost, we will need more of God in our lives. We need His wisdom, His power and His presence every minute. We need more partnerships with local churches and agencies who share our burden. But we will also need more resources, including missionary and volunteer training, literature and secular media access and all the attendant people and finances.

Your Support is Critical

As Paul says in Romans 10, “How can they preach unless they are sent?” We also need special friends like you who will send out the preachers, with prayer and financial support. The harvest is ripe. If you share our passion for reaching Jewish people for Jesus, please ask Him how you can be involved in “Operation Behold Your God.” Even if you cannot give, please pray for us.

As you scan the reports of adventures from our Summer 2000 Campaigns, imagine those same stories coming from 60 cities around the world where millions of Jewish people don’t know that the Messiah has come!

God can do it. We want to be a part of it. And if your heart is moved by the incredible challenge and opportunity of “Operation Behold Your God,” I look forward to hearing from you very soon.
