WANTED! Trained Volunteers to be Co-Laborers in Messiah!
Carolyne Rohrig is our Co-Laborer in Messiah Coordinator (CLIMCO)
Are you passionate about Jewish people hearing the gospel? We have an opportunity for you! Learn to work with us as a Co-Laborer—a trained Jews for Jesus volunteer.
We need friends like you to help us lift up the name of Jesus.
Co-Laborers in Messiah (CLIMs) are specially trained Jewish or Gentile volunteers who represent Jews for Jesus in their communities. There are endless possibilities a Co-Laborer can choose from. Some help fill our ranks in our Behold Your God campaigns. Others assist our missionaries as they travel on Christ in the Passover tours. CLIMs can also represent us at missions conferences, host Bible studies, and write letters or make phone calls to witness to Jewish people in their areas. I am inspired by these extraordinary folks who are our eyes and ears in areas where we do not have a branch or outpost. They really are an extension of who we are in their communities.
Here are just a couple of reports from CLIMs who both happen to live in Washington state.
From Brook Kittel:
I gave my very first Hanukkah party at my mother’s retirement community, which has both independent and assisted living residents. Attending were three Jewish women residents, the daughter of one of the residents, and the daughter’s Jewish friend. They were all thrilled and amazed that we were giving a Hanukkah party. We learned some Hebrew greetings, listened to English and Hebrew music and the Hanukkah story, and of course noshed on some kugel and latkes made from the Jews for Jesus Family Cookbook.
“At the end of the festivities, I was able to talk about Israel and how some Jewish people believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. I announced that in a few weeks I would be showing the Survivor Stories DVD (stories of Jewish Holocaust survivors who came to faith in Jesus). The daughter’s Jewish friend, at one point in the evening, asked me about my Jewish heritage and I replied that I was Gentile with a kosher heart. Her response was interesting; she said she wished she could say the same about her own heart. I hope to call on each of the ladies who attended and perhaps have an opportunity to talk with the daughter and her friend.”
From Kristy Welles, also in Washington state (Kristy was on our Behold Your God Israel Upper Galilee campaign):
“The Lord opened up a wonderful opportunity for me to share Yeshua (Jesus) with an Israeli this morning, and in the operating room. [Kristy is a nurse.] We often have surgeons from Israel come and visit during their training, but to have even a short conversation with anyone about Yeshua in the O.R. is incredible.
“I was wearing some jewelry I purchased in Jerusalem which Amir commented on . . . and that’s how the conversation started. Because of my recent experience on our BYG Israel campaign, the Holy Spirit prompted me to talk about Yeshua’s name versus the false name Israelis have been taught to refer to Him. I was able to briefly tell him what I believe, that there are many Israelis who also believe and I encouraged him to read Isaiah 53. He says he has read parts of the New Testament. Please pray for Amir and any further conversations with him. When we had to end our brief conversation, he said he was finding it interesting, as if he wants to know more. PTL!”
