Jack and Alice Meadows are joint chaplains for our ministry, and Dr. Jack” is also a vital part of our missionary training program.

Jack is Jewish and received Yeshua (Jesus) as Messiah in September of 1959, in Portland, Oregon. Alice received the Lord in a Southern Baptist church in Georgia at a young age. They met at Portland State College, where Jack received a business degree. The Meadows have been married for more than 40 years, and their “children” (a daughter and three sons) are grown.

Jack worked as a CPA from 1960-1963, and after seminary training at Dallas Theological Seminary he was in the pastorate—three different churches—from 1968-1990, serving in Mississippi and El Paso, Texas. Many of us who traveled with music and drama teams recall speaking at Jack’s church in El Paso and enjoying the hospitality of the Meadows’ home. Jack went on to receive a Ph.D. in Theological Studies (Old Testament) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

The Meadows began their chaplain ministry in August of 2001 and moved to New York (from Wheaton, Illinois) on Thanksgiving Day, 2001. Jack began his other role—training our missionary candidates—in January, 2002. This semester he is teaching Old Testament Survey/Jewish History, Inter-Testament History through the Holocaust, Tabernacles, Leviticus and Hebrews: Type and Fulfillment, In-Depth Study of Romans, Basic Theology and Messianic Apologetics (answering and dealing with what the rabbis say about Jews believing in Jesus). To see the missionary trainees Jack is currently teaching, turn to pages 4 and 5. While Jack and Alice and are not front line missionaries with Jews for Jesus, they are invested in preparing our new missionaries for the task, as well as caring for the spiritual health of our staff. Please keep them in your prayers!
