Be sure to wish your Jewish friends a Happy Purim! Purim is the Jewish holiday commemorating the events recorded in the book of Esther. This year it falls on March 7. It is traditional to read the whole megillah” (scroll) of Esther and to eat three-cornered pastries known as hamantaschen, or “Haman’s hats.” While there are no greeting cards for this holiday, it is a joyous occasion that celebrates God’s watchcare over His people, Israel.
