How much do you know about Jewish culture… and Jewish evangelism?

Answer the following questions, true or not true:

1. It is traditional among many Jewish people to go see a movie on Christmas.

True: There’s not a lot for Jewish people to do on Christmas. Most are not looking for reminders of how everyone else is taking the day off—presumably to celebrate someone they’ve been taught is not for them—so a movie can be a nice “escape.”

2. It is traditional among many Jewish people to eat Chinese food on Christmas.

True: It is traditional among many Jewish people to enjoy Chinese food at any time, but especially on Christmas.

3. It is traditional among Jewish people to open a fortune cookie on Christmas and find a Scripture verse inside.

Not true. Where would anyone get that idea?

4. Jewish people have opened up fortune cookies at another time of year and found Scripture verses inside.

True! It really happened—in Israel, as part of our Massah summer outreach. We were so blessed by this story and think you will be, too! Check it out here.
