Jews for Jesus and Golden Vision?
The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the ITVA (International Television Association) hosted the Annual Golden Vision Awards” Video Festival—and believe it or not, Jews for Jesus’ Multimedia department received three awards.
Awards are given based on the amount of points that judges give for various aspects of production—like graphics, shooting, editing, lighting and content. Also, two “Best of Show” awards are given out—one for a production with a budget of less than $1000 per minute and the other for one of more than $1000 per minute.
We received a silver award for “Jewish Evangelism Seminar, Part 2” and a gold award for “A Look at The Liberated Wailing Wall.” The biggest surprise to us was that The Liberated Wailing Wall video also won “Best of Show” in the small budget category. The ITVA is a completely secular organization and our videos are very forthright about evangelism. Also interesting to note, the Master of Ceremonies for the evening was a Bay Area media critic who happens to be Jewish. When she announced our first award, she paused and said wryly, “My mother would get along with this next group.”
We thank God for bringing us staff who are not only creative and talented, but have been willing to use their gifts to help make Jesus an unavoidable issue to our Jewish people worldwide. That’s our real “golden vision.” Anyway, we thought you would like to join us in saying mazel tov (congratulations) to Michelle Brown and Scott Sjostrom, who created these videos, and to Susan Perlman who oversees our Multimedia department. We are happy to welcome Joel Cheek as a new member of our Multimedia team.
