Tanach Jesus Paul
The Law “Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.” (Psalm 119:97) “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” (Matthew 5:17) “So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.” (Romans 7:12)
The Law’s Purpose “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105) “…these are the Scriptures that testify about me…” (John 5:39) “So the law was put in charge to lead us to Messiah that we might be justified by faith.” (Galatians 3:24)
The Law’s Duration “‘The time is coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will make a new covenant with the house of lsrael and with the house of Judah; I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts.”‘ (Jeremiah 31:31, 33) “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it.” (Luke 16:16) “Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.” (Galatians 3:25)
