Amer Olson is the director of the Chicago branch of Jews for Jesus. He grew up in Minneapolis in a family that celebrated Hanukkah and Passover as well as Christmas and Easter — his mother is Jewish and his father is Gentile. Later, while studying at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Amer began to explore his Jewish heritage. In addition to visiting synagogues and learning Hebrew, he also — unexpectedly — discovered the Jewishness of Jesus and the New Covenant. From the moment he gave his life to Jesus, Amer felt the burden to share the Messiah with his Jewish people.

Amer holds a Certificate of Fine Art from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, and a BA (with honors) from All Nations Christian College, Ware, UK. He has a passion for using his artistic talents in evangelism, visually and musically. His ministry with Jews for Jesus began as leader of the evangelistic music team The Liberated Wailing Wall. Since then, Amer and his wife Paige, also an artist, have served in our branches in New York City and London. They currently reside in Chicago.
