Shopping with credit cards can be very rewarding!
With just a wave of your credit card, you can go on vacation and rent that car you could never afford to buy.
(Of course, driving it is another story!)
You can buy the most exquisite clothes and dine at the finest restaurants.
Just remember, if you don’t pay now…
…you’re going to pay later.
But you can always pick yourself up and get right back onto the shopping circuit.
That’s what I did. And shopping was rewarding … only the rewards weren’t always what I expected.
“I love the new sofa but it does sort of make the rest of the room look cruddy.”
I wondered, “Am I shopping strenuously enough?”
So I shopped harder. In fact, I shopped till I dropped.
“There has to be more to life than shopping and dropping.”
I discovered that even if you can pay all your bills, even if you are the King or Queen of Credit, there are certain things your cards can’t buy.
“Oooh, not even with a Gold Card?”
Things like peace and joy … things that come from knowing
For what will a man be profited if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul?” (Matthew 16:26)
Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, gave his life so we could have a right relationship with God, and if we put our trust in him, we will conquer death just like he did.
The best things in life aren’t free—they’re not available on credit and they happen to be beyond our price range. Only God can give enough to obtain them for us:
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Why not give the Master charge of your life?
