Stephen Katz
Chief of Station
Stephen Katz is Chief of Station at the Washington, D.C. branch of Jews for Jesus. He was born in Illinois and became Bar Mitzvah in a Conservative Jewish synagogue. When he was in college, Stephen was assigned a term paper on why most Jews in Bible times didn't believe in Jesus. Through his research, he began to realize that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. After a long struggle, he became a believer. Stephen completed his studies, spent a year in Israel and returned to his native Chicago area, where he did social work and also was worship leader at his congregation. Several of his songs are in Jews for Jesus' books and recordings. Stephen served in our Los Angeles branch for three years, then led Jews for Jesus' work in the San Francisco branch and served as Minister-at-Large at the San Francisco headquarters. Stephen and his wife Laura have four children.
